Teaser Tuesday (1)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

 My teasers are:

He runs a hand through his hair and bites down on his bottom lip and for one delirious moment all I want to do is taste him. I force myself back into focus.

Not sure exactly what page it would be on an ebook but this is Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, and let me tell you it's amazing so far!

What are your teasers?

Divergent Review (FINALLY!)

Check it out on Goodreads!

One choice can transform you. Pass initiation. Do not fail! Thrilling urban dystopian fiction debut from exciting young author. In sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior's world, society is divided into five factions -- Abnegation (the selfless), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent) -- each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue, in the attempt to form a "perfect society." At the age of sixteen, teens must choose the faction to which they will devote their lives. On her Choosing Day, Beatrice renames herself Tris, rejects her family's group, and chooses another faction. After surviving a brutal initiation, Tris finds romance with a super-hot boy, but also discovers unrest and growing conflict in their seemingly "perfect society." To survive and save those they love, they must use their strengths to uncover the truths about their identities, their families, and the order of their society itself.

My thoughts:

I have read so many reviews for this book and considering that 89% of them have been in favor of it, I couldn't wait any longer. So after buying it at my local Wal-Mart, I got it home and had it read in 2 days. It kept me there the whole time. I have a lot of problems staying with a book that loses my interest, it takes me longer to finish it. In truth, a lot of books that had me wavering midway in with it's slowness, has captured me when it really mattered. Although Divergent didn't have that problem in the least.

Back to greatness, Divergent was just awesome. I loved everything about it, the different factions and what they represented, then the awesomeness of being an actual Divergent. I don't know, maybe it's the huge dystopian dork in me but I love this stuff! I love how everyone has a choice at a certain age. The main character is what I would want to be like, she is selfless, but badass all the same.

I sense an almost instant attraction between Tris and Four, then finding out how they all tie together just makes it that much of a better story. I commend Tris for all the struggles, losses, and gains that she has to go through. I can't really go into them, because I try not to spoil but I would definitely check this out if I were you! :)
